Terry Sullivan Terry Sullivan is a free-lance writer with a specialization in spirits, wine, cocktails, travel, food, and anything else he can get a laugh with or a check for. He is a contributing writer with regular drinks/beverage columns in North Shore Magazine (Chicago), Plate Magazine and The Whisky Advocate--and a regular essayist on city life, style, and things that generally annoy him for the Chicago Tribune Sunday Magazine and Chicago Magazine. His Mixology column was a monthly feature in GQ for five years, where he wrote from 1987 until 2002, and his work has appeared in Saveur, Whisky Magazine(UK), Playboy (on-line and print), Polo On-line and many others. He believes himself to be the only living writer whose work has appeared in both Brides Magazine and This Old House Magazine, although he’s particularly not proud of it. His beverage blog appears irregularly on Dan Dunn’s site (www.theimbiber.net) and on the website for the Beverage Testing Institute (www.tastings.com) where he also sits on tasting panels, which isn’t as much fun as it sounds like. He serves as a judge for the occasional bartenders’ competition, creates new cocktails for money whenever anyone asks, and is available to type English prose at the drop of a glass. |
